Ninety-six 12-week-old female Sprague-Dawley rats were divided randomly into three groups (n = 32/group): OVX combined with unilateral SN cheap date lyrics treated with or without 17β-estradiol (E2) (OVX+SN+E2, OVX+SN, respectively), and sham operation as control (CTRL). The rats underwent trans-abdominal OVX or a sham operation under anesthesia with intraperitoneal ketamine hydrochloride (100 mg/kg body weight). Unilateral SN was performed on the right hindlimb by resecting 4 to 5-mm segment. After the operation, OVX+SN+E2 rats were injected with E2 at 10 µg/kg body weight (Sigma, St Louis, MO, USA) immediately and followed by every other day throughout the study. At both 6- and 24-hour measurements, the fluid volume was lower and norepinephrine dosage was higher in the control group than in the study group ( P < .05). The blood lactate clearance rate was lower, the duration of mechanical ventilation was longer, and the length of stay in the ICU was longer in the control group than in the study group ( P < .05). High level of p-GSK-β(S9) led to increased expression of β-catenin (Figure 4). However, the Akt pathway is dominant in leukemia cell proliferation. These results indicate that LiCl promotes apoptosis in NB4 cells by inhibiting GSK-3β. In addition, LiCl affects the Akt pathway, thus, decreasing c-Myc expression.
